Clomid

Question:

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else had any problems with skin break outs with Clomid?

Response:

<<just wondering if anyone else had any problems with skin break outs with Clomid?>> Not me, but I have heard of it happening to at least one other person.  Is rare.  Please let your doctor know about it soon.

Response:

I’m sorry, I didn’t explain that well, I didn’t mean an allergic reaction, I meant acne..  My skin has always been really clear, maybe 1 or 2 small pimples a month, but in the last week, since I started Clomid, my skin looks terrible..  Just wondered if anyone else had either experienced this or heard of anyone else experiencing this….  Thanks :)

Response:

Hi there, I recognise your problem; my skin looks terrible too since I started taking clomid… I figured it had to do with the stimulation of hormones that makes it worse. Also, it’s very bad the first two weeks of my cycle, but after ovulation (if one occurs…) it gets less. I have been on BCP for about 10 years, so that gave me the luxury of a relatively clear skin. Too bad I want to have a baby now… :-) Kiki

Response:

It’s been about 8 years since I took Clomid–only had one baby then, and was told the chances were relatively low of experiencing multiples on it.  (Had twins on Pergonal/Metrodin/Lupron combination–lucky is wasn’t many more babes!) He is on the right track, sounds to me like he knows what he is doing. Your change will go up to 90% by combining these two drugs.  They were talking about that on the PCOSA conference.  I keep my fingers crossed. — Katharina dav…@german-usa.com 35/5.9/C0-nt/met2550 262(March 15,99)/232

My doctor told me the chance of twins is high but the risk of more than that is very low like 20% In article <19990627194641.25274.00004…@ng-cm1.aol.com>,   ls…@aol.com (LSNIX) wrote: – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Hey guys, > I haven’t posted in a while. Hello, Is the risk of multiples a >lot higher on Clomid?

on these two sites they say 6-7% or less than 10% for twin and 1% for triplets and up. http://www.poetsrx.com/serophene/serophene.html#Anchor http://www.ihr.com/bafertil/articles/pcos.html My doctor says she has NEVER seen more than twins and only has had two sets of them. best of luck. Hello Cysters!  I just found out some wonderful news that my insurance will pay for infertility treatment since I have pco.  So I was wondering if you  could send me info on clomid.  Like how long you took it, Side effects, etc.  Thanks

i don’t know what jluck6677 did, but my insurance also covers all clomid, all fertinex, artificial insemination AND Invitro!  I have Guardian, and they just say that it is all covered so long as you submit a letter from your doctor stating "medical necessity", i.e. a medical condition (PCOS) that would make it difficult to conceive without assistance.

Response:

What is Clomid?  I have PCOS, but don’t want to have any more children. I had a tubligation. Is clomid only for those trying to get pregnant? The only thing I take for my PCOS is progesterone, cycled to bring on my period. I have the facial hair, thinning hair, acne, cystic ovaries and hormonal imbalance (low progesterone, high testoterone) the doc just put me on aldactone too, haven’t started it yet. I believe it’s to lower my testestosterone level. should I be taking Clomid? Gina Marie

Yes.  Clomid induces ovulation.  If you’re not trying to get pregnant, there’s no point in taking it. > The only thing I take for my PCOS is progesterone, cycled to bring on my > period. > I have the facial hair, thinning hair, acne, cystic ovaries and hormonal > imbalance (low progesterone, high testoterone) > the doc just put me on aldactone too, haven’t started it yet. You may want to consider Metformin (glucophage).  It helps many PCOS patients who are insulin resistant. Good luck, Orit in Israel — Posting from DejaNews because my newsfeed’s broken again. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
